Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last decade, the Dos Equis campaign for “The Most Interesting Man in the World” has been good branding and a source for endless amounts of entertainment for the beer brand. An advertising favorite around here at Digital Insider, we loved the send-off for the original “Most Interesting Man” (as played by Jonathan Goldsmith), and were sad to possibly see the end of such a strong campaign.
Our fears were unfounded with the release last week of “The New Most Interesting Man in the World” – now played by actor Augustin Legrand. The first commercial is a fantastic reboot of the original campaign, with some notable changes – as mentioned in a statement by Andrew Katz, Dos Equis’ vice president of marketing via Business Insider, “The meaning of ‘interesting’ has evolved over the past decade, and this campaign features a new character and look and feel that opens the door to a world of interesting possibilities for today’s Dos Equis drinker. With the reboot of the campaign, we’re celebrating the good times The Most Interesting Man has with friends wherever he travels, while highlighting our refreshing cerveza.”
